We try to use the best quality ingredients and cooking oils.

“Friendly local pub with great food and accommodation for cyclists.

Stayed here on night 2 of the Tasman Taste Trail. There are 8 en suite units out behind the pub. They are modern and clean and just what you need. It looks like 2 of them could sleep 4 and the rest are doubles. You can not book on line but need to call to book. The pub is right in the town with a Four Square next door. The locals are very friendly and chatting over a beer is a pleasure at the end of a day cycling. The pub offers meals and they are delicious. The steak was the best ever as was the Chatham island Blue cod. Great value. Can't recommend it enough. It is a hidden gem.”

“ Convenient friendly place to stay.

Nice clean rooms well equipped with small kitchen area. Continental Breakfast provided in room. All the staff were exceptionally nice and helpful even allowed us to use the washing machine. Found a lovely school pool open for a swim after our hot cycle here. There is a pub restaurant and bottle store on the premises and 4 square next door no need to go any further.”

“Great place for lunch

We take a drive to Tapawera twice a year and always stop at Hotel for lunch, we usually have a big breakfast but have found the bacon to0 salty so this time we had fish and chips which were superb,outside in the sun,old fashioned in the paper, no wind, a lovely afternoon.”
